We Impact the Energy of Every Group
We Impact the Energy of Every Group We’re In.
I was talking with an elementary school teacher today about how each class has a distinct energy, personality, and feeling to it. We teachers can remember fondly the different classes we’ve taught, some so sweet and kind, others a bit more challenging.
All the way up through college and grad school, each class of students has an energy to them! It’s sometimes wild to experience - I could be teaching two sections of the same topic, like physics, yet the classes look and feel quite differently.
The teacher I spoke with today, who’s been teaching a decade longer than I have, added that a single student in a class can shift the energy of the whole class.
Isn’t that how it is? A single person - in a class, in an office, in a family - can have a large impact on the energy of the whole group.
That person who has a large impact on the energy of the whole group is you. Each of us has an impact on the energy of the whole group.
There isn’t a question of whether we each impact the group or not. We do.
The question is whether we’re choosing to have the impact we really want to have, or if we’re having the default impact chosen by our inner protective mechanisms.
Perhaps getting intentional about the impact we have on the groups in our lives might just be a matter of our personal integrity.
(If it wasn’t before, then I hope it is now.)
What’s your impact on the energy of your workplace and your family? What energetic impact would you like to have? Peace, optimism, joy, gratitude, compassion, intentionality, love, understanding, action, inspiration, creativity, …?
Much Love. ❤️
(As always, human-written.)
